Great news for all connections of Alpha Beat in his great victory yesterday in the Guinness Kerry National Handicap Chase (Grade A). This is the second year in a row that he has triumphed in this contest. Also great news for Ryan Bloodstock who privately purchased Alpha Beat's full sister Glen Belle on behalf of Old Shanbally Syndicate in Burncourt Tipperary. There was great celebrations in Listowel as some of the syndiacate members attended the race and had a few bets on each way at a great price of 20/1. Glen Belle is safely in foal to the hughly successful Dubai Destination, who himself is having a particularly brilliant year in 2011. He is standing at Rathbarry Stud in Cork.
The syndicate received an offer to purchase the mare following Alpha Beat's first success in the same race in 2010. That now seems like a very good decision as Alpha Beat is now set for The Aintree Grand National. Best of luck from Ryan Bloodstock to all concerned, we will be cheering him on in Tipperary.

Where is Qatar in the Thoroughbred racing world?
There have
been many changes in Qatars economic climate in the last 30 years. The
emergence of one of the worlds best carriers Qatar Airways, the world Cup Soccer secured for 2022, but perhaps one area that might eclipse all
those achievements is the emergence of the Thoroughbred
racing Industry.
There is
already a very proud tradition in Qatar in the Arab horse and Qatar are among
the world leaders in this breed. The Qatar Racing club has done an excellent
job and run successful race programmes each year.
The recent
activity in the thoroughbred markets is catching the attention of the worlds
press and recent purchases and success on the track in Ireland and the UK by
Pearl Bloodstock have now caught the imagination of the racing public in Qatar.
Ryanbloodstock really hit the big time with the purchase of Joshua Tree on behalf of Kalifa Bin
Hamad Al Attiyah
This
amazing story showed how shrewd an investment can be when three weeks after the
purchase of Joshua Tree from Coolmore by
Ryan Bloodstock, the horse went out to Canada with Tom and Bernie Ryan of Ryan
Bloodstock to win a large prize and trophy in the Pattison Canadian International,
Group 1 rated race.
Joshua Tree who is still the reigning champion went on to
compete in Japan before returning to win in Qatar. This period also saw
Beethoven win the Derby in Qatar. Ryanbloodstock
also bought the winners of several races
in Qatar for the same owners.
Ryanbloodstock successful breeders and bloodstock agents based
in Ireland have naturally had a string of enquiries following this success and
given their geographic location near the large and famous stud farms such as,
Coolmore, Darly and Aga Khan they have great access to the cream of the
thoroughbred nurseries.
Tom and
Bernie Ryan insist that just because there are many enquires they will only buy
when they find a horse suitable to the clients needs.
Tom Ryan
states “It is important that we act in the best interests of our clients as we
are building strong relationships particularly in Qatar and also in other Gulf
States”.
Ryanbloodstock can sense the growing interest from the
Business Community and in particularly from the owners of Arab horses. This is
following a similar pattern to the model in Dubai.
Ryanblooodstock see a growing feeling on the ground that Qatar
will go on to achieve great things in Thoroughbred racing and breeding. Bernie
Ryan agrees and states “We are very
excited about thoroughbred racing scene in Qatar and having lived and worked in
the Middle East I have developed a love and a special attachment for this part
of the world. The Arabic People love horses and their history shows that the
horse always has a special place in their hearts”
It is now a
very busy time with the sales season now upon us but it is also a good time to
purchase privately as studs are preparing their horses for sale.
This timing
combines very well with the Qatar racing Programme in January and also the
Dubai Racing Carnival of 2012 on the cards.
